World Wrestling Entertainment has just recently come out of a scandal with the death of one of their superstars, Chris Benoit. Its a very sad incident as I am a fan of Benoit and the WWE (WWF before). Now, they contend with another issue as the sports entertainment powerhouse announced the suspension of 10 wretlers who is said to have violated WWE’s wellness policy.
Under the policy, performers are tested for such things as illegal substances and heart stress. I’m just wondering why this happened now and not before incidents like Benoit happened. The company Thursday didn’t identify the names of the suspended talent or the nature of the violations. However, the suspensions were based on information received from the Albany County, N.Y., district attorney’s office, which is investigating illegal steroid sales in the wake of the recent tragedy surrounding former WWE star Chris Benoit.
