M. Night Shyamalan has one very good friend over at Latino Review. El Mayimbe has read the script for Night’s The Green Effect and thinks the studios are wrong to pass on this latest film from the man who loves to make big budget films with “twist” endings.
Judging from the review of the screenplay, I have to wonder if El Mayimbe needs a bit of perspective. Aside from the box office failure of Lady in the Water, there could be other reasons why Hollywood isn’t jumping to produce this film, in spite of past successes like The Sixth Sense and Signs.
When a journalist writes about studio executives that pass on an unproduced film, “…FIRE THEM! FIRE THEM WITH A VENGEANCE!”, you have to think that this “reviewer” is suspiciously too partisan.
Hollywood movies are very expensive gambles and studios are hedging their bets by not paying as much up front as in the past, whether it is for a star actor like Tom Cruise, or star director like Night. Maybe Night should have a better sense with the signs indicating that the village known as Hollywood does not see him as unbreakable.

You should kill yourself for writing that last sentence.

I forgot to mention that Night might be “Wide Awake”, “Praying with Anger” the way his career has been going lately.

No matter what you think or say, he’s still going to make his films, so take a chill pill. That’s what i call a profession, to sit back and criticise on someone who is actually doing something, nice job man. And your last sentence is not one of your best.
