What Hath Paranormal Activity Wrought?

Well, folks, look for a whole new paradigm in movie making to get started here pretty soon–the paradigm in which you have to DEMAND to see every movie you want to actually see, and sometimes, the studios might care.  Yes, they’re now making you prove your interest before allowing you to see some films in the vaunted theater.

It was the case with Paranormal Activity, and it’s the case with the new Boondock Saints 2.  From the look of things, they’re trying to get people to demand it in their area before they’ll release it.

Frankly, I’m horrified by this.  Since when did movie distribution become a matter of MOB RULE??  For crying out loud, it shouldn’t be a matter of assembling enough VOTES to get a movie out to a theater near you!  It should be available to you, in your area!

Frankly, what we should do is demand movies be released to as wide a scale as possible, and then refuse to see them.  Make them take that poisoned dagger RIGHT into their own ribs, and then let the indies take a crack at it.  Beats the current plan….

Anyway, here’s a trailer of Boondock Saints 2 for you to check out.  Enjoy.

While I agree with you about not agreeing with the way this movie is being marketed, it may have saved some people the time and money that would have been wasted on going to see this movie. I just went to see it last night, and believe me, it isn’t anywhere near as good (or at all) as the hype would have you believe.
