What About the Award Shows?

November 16th, 2007 in Awards

220px-academy_award_oscar.jpgIf the writers are on strike, who is going to write for the award shows? Does that mean the acceptance speeches get to be longer than 30 seconds!! Bravo!!! I love hearing those. I miss them.

Even the show could be shorter, less than 3 hours.

How will Jon Stewart, who is the scheduled Oscar host, fair on his own. His talk show is dark these days. Sounds like he needs his writers.

According to Variety, writing for most awards shows begins after the nominations are announced. That is months away, so the strike might be resolved by then.
