I had a bit of an epiphany today. I realized it had been a while since my favorite director, Wes Anderson, had released a film. It hadn’t been since 2004’s excellent “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” that Anderson was part of the film lexicon. Well, fellow Andersonites I have great news to report. “The Darjeeling Limited” is set to make its debut come Christmas day of this year.

It won’t come as a surprise to fans of Anderson that there are many familiar names in the star-studded cast. Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman, Anjelica Huston, Natalie Portman, and Bill Murrray all are featured in the latest film. Anderson likes to work with people are familiar to him, and many of those names have worked with him movies such as “Rushmore” and “The Royal Tenenbaums”. The film was written as a collaborative effort between Anderson, Schwartzman, and Roman Coppola.

Here is what Owen Wilson had to say about the film while he was doing promo work last year for “You, Me and Dupree”:

But I am going to do a movie with my friend Wes [Anderson] in India, and that’s not going to be a buddy comedy movie. [I play] one of three brothers, and they go on this journey in India. I haven’t really spoken to Wes yet in regards to what I can really talk about.

It is now known that the film involves a train ride through India with three brothers who are dealing with the death of their father. I can’t wait to see what Anderson has in store for us this time, and what British Invasion songs he pulls from his discography.
