From Variety comes word that Werc Werk Works is set to produce and fully finance Howl, taking over some of the reigns of the project from Telling Pictures.
The film focuses on the obscenity trial over Ginsberg’s popular poem; there is also an animated reimagining of the poem itself.
It will start shooting next month in New York City, with Paul Rudd, James Franco, David Strathairn, Alan Alda, Mary-Louise Parker and Jeff Daniels attached to star.
Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman will direct from their own screenplay.
