"Under Our Skin"
Andy Abrahams Wilson’s provocative documentary “Under Our Skin” about the tick-borne ailment Lyme disease, is alarming enough to make the faint of heart decide to never again venture into the woods or to lie on the grass without protective covering. The film focuses on the medical establishment, particularly the Infectious Diseases Society of America, which has alleged that chronic Lyme disease does not exist.
The film follows the journey of longtime sufferers progressively debilitated from all of the physical and neurological ailments to find effective treatment. Some have spent a large amount of money going from doctor to doctor and many are told that their suffering is psychosomatic. Film not rated.
