Walking into the office the other day, I came across the April edition of Broadcast, a weekly mag for the TV industry. Lo and behold, the cover is the image you see to the left. It seems that Transformers are back. Not only does the live-action Transformers movie hit the screens on the 4th of July (a week earlier in Europe, hah), and looks (despite my hatred for Michael Bay) mighty impressive, but it seems that an animated TV series of the show is making a comeback.
The only problem is that there is no details. And here I was expecting to be Mr. Exclusive by quoting some news item from a real print source, as opposed to picking up stories from the web. But all we get is a colourful cover. While the main article of Broadcast does take a sneak peak at MIPTV, the international TV trade show, there’s no mention of Transformers, besides the cover’s announcement that the show consists of 26 half-hour episodes and a 90 minute special, coming in 2008. Guess it was a big advertisement. So much for “More Than Meets the Eye” There’s no indication whether this ties in with the upcoming summer blockbuster, but rest assured that Screenhead will be on the case.
