Yes, “El Cid” is an epic. I saw the remastered version and I thought Heston was magnificent. Only an actor like Heston could command a thousand extras like he did in “El Cid.”

Charlton Heston is a beautiful person. His performance in films such as Ben-Hur are very inspiring. Even Planet of the Apes showed his depth as an actor. I am thinking of naming my unborn child Charlton in his honor, and for the fact that my own father battled and lost to Alzheimer’s disease.
