"Tony Manero"
“Tony Mareno” tells the story of a fifty year old man obsessed with John Travolta’s character from Saturday Night Fever and who also copies his idol each weekend in a little bar on the fringes of Santiago. Each weekend, Raúl Peralta and his friends gather in this small bar and act out popular scenes from “Saturday Night Fever”.
Raúl yearns to become a showbiz sensation and when a national television program announces a Tony Manero impersonating contest it seems like he may finally have his shot at fame. Unfortunately, Raúl is pushed to commit a series of crimes in an attempt to reproduce his movie character persona and his dancing partners who also happen to be underground resistance fighters are oppressed by the secret police.
