I am very excited for Marisa Tomei because she signed on to play the female lead opposite Mickey Rourke in Darren Aronofsky’s indie drama “The Wrestler.“

The plot focuses on an over-the-hill 1980s-era pro grappler (Rourke) who quits the business after a heart attack and moves in with a stripper (Tomei) to build a relationship with her son. I can see Rourke playing this part to the T.

Film the picture is under way in New York and New Jersey. Tomei,will head to the stage after filming “The Wrestler” with a starring role in “Top Girls” on Broadway.
