ducksSo I found an absolute winner on Newgrounds--the somewhat thrilling start to what may well be a dynasty in the making.  It’s called Throwback the Duck, and it’s only just getting started.

It’s the story of a duck with an unusual passion in life: video games.  Specifically those created by gaming industry superpower Nintendo.  Throwback goes out to Washington to audition for a role as a gaming spokesman for Big N, and ends up losing the job to a familiar face.  But it’s not a total loss; Throwback lands a janitorial job, and does some pretty amazing things along the way.  He then takes this industry knowledge, after losing his job to a Pikmin who was willing to work for free, to Florida, where eventually he joins the gaming magazine Nintendo Now as an investigative journalist out to locate what happened to all those old big name characters we used to love.

Sure, it’s a little on the surreal side, but being a former Big N gamer myself, I can feel a connection with this duck, and thus find myself interested to discover just what he’s going to do next.  And I hope I get to find out soon.
