14524vampireAshley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz aren’t two names you might readily recognize, but you’ll know their work–they’ve just finished the script for the upcoming Thor movie, and they’ve also handled work on Fringe and the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

What are they turning their attention to this time?  Why, the newest flavor of the week in Hollywood, of course–vampires.  Specifically, they’ll be working on the movie version of Damn Nation, a three-issue comic mini-series released by Dark Horse back in 2005.

In Damn Nation, the United States finds itself under attack by a race of “cruel nocturnal cannibals”, which means, of course, vampires.  The government bugs out for London while “trying to find a cure”.   The best parallel I’ve heard for this is that it’s basically just 28 Days Later with 30 Days of Night-style vampires.  And that’s actually a pretty explosive combination with a LOT of room to play.  It’s amazing it only lasted three issues.

Anyway, no word on release dates or anything since scripting is just starting, but I’d personally say not before 2012.
