The second sequel had almost died because of financing, but has met its savior in the form of 20th Century Fox who has agreed to co-finance Voyage of the Dawn Treader, pending final script and shooting budget approval. This will be the third in the Chronicles of Narnia trilogy.
Walden Media, the other financier, will split the production and P&A costs of the film’s $140 million budget with Fox. Disney Pictures had decided to pass on helping finance the third film in the series a month ago.
The previous crew and cast members remain attached to the film, including Michael Apted as director. Shooting is scheduled to begin this summer for a holiday 2010 release.
