theron_charlize.jpgCharlize Theron signed to join John Hillcoat’s adaptation of “The Road,” the chilling post-apocalyptic novel by Cormac McCarthy. She joins Viggo Mortensen in the film, who’s been attached for months. Apparently, if the movie follows the book, Theron’s character is mainly in flashbacks.

I’m curious, if “The Road,” as a movie, can be as good as “No County for Old Men’ by McCarthy. What do you think?

I think that’s a bad sign. If they are bringing in a star that big it sounds like they plan on writing her into the script a bit more.

I loved the book, I just hope they can resist the urge to “Hollywood” it up. It is a bleak, dry story. i hope the leave it that way.

Interesting way to describe a book you like “bleak, dry story.” I over heard two people talking about the book. One saying her boyfriend was having a hard time getting through the book.

Well, I did love it, and it was bleak and dry.

Sure makes one appreciate things we take for granted.

Great. Thanks for getting back to me. Finding a good book takes some doing.
