The folks over at the SCIFI channel have tipped us off on a new, made-for-television movie event that re-imagines the classic story of “The Wizard of Oz.” It looks to be a bit of a darker twist on the the old world of Oz, featuring a “darkly menacing world populated by wicked sisters, cowardly psychics, and a menagerie of other fantastical inhabitants.”
The land of OZ, which in “Tin Man” stands for the “Outer Zone”, is a much darker place, and is much farther over the rainbow than ever before. Starring in the film are Zooey Deschanel, Richard Dreyfuss, Alan Cumming, and Neal McDonough.
The TV movie is being shown in the mini-series format on the SCIFI channel, and kicks off at 9pm EST on December 2, 2007.
