The Thing is an absolute classic that must not be remade at all costs – while fans may believe so, movie execs are another breed. However, Universal’s remake of the film won’t be a remake at all, but a prequel.
This comes from Latino Review who spoke with producer Marc Abraham about the project. He reveals that the film’s narrative will “be taking place in the same time frame” and feature “the events leading up to the 1982 film.”
No update on the project itself was given, though. The latest (and all) we have is that Universal hired Ronald Moore to write a script.
