I am on the outside of this genre but The Spirit is very popular. This trailer shows more of what the fans love about Will Eisner and Frank Miller. The initial teaser was rather unappealing, and this one is at least interesting...but I can't figure out what's going on, who this guy is, why he has women saying hackneyed phrases falling all over him, or why I should see this movie.
