It’s official - Superheroes are hot.  Not only did we report to you about the Flash’s solo film following his appearance in the upcoming Justice League of America movie, but now we’re also getting reports that Green Lantern is also primed to star in his very own movie.  Variety reported today that The Green Latern will be made into a live-action adaptatin of the DC Comics’ superhero for Warner Bros.  Greg Berlanti (”Everwood”) will be directing and will co-write along with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.

Originally created in 1940, Green Latern’s modern-day adaptation to film will focus on:

“Hal Jordan, a test pilot who finds a downed alien spacecraft. A dying alien passes his ring to Jordan, introducing the man to a wider world that includes an interstellar police force known as the Green Lantern Corps and its overseers, the Guardians of the Universe, who live on the planet Oa. “

All superheroes have a weakness, and Green Lantern’s is the color yellow.   Let’s hope that no one delivers him a bouquet of fresh, bright yellow daffodils!
