This one will be met with some controversy: Taxi to the Darkside, a Documentary that focuses on torture practices in Iraq, has been picked up for release by THINKfilm. The film has already gained fame after winning the honors of best Documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film is by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Alex Gibney.

Gibney was proud as a peacock as he proclaimed, “I am thrilled with the team at THINKFilm. Their extraordinary skill as distributors, their commitment to the film and their plans for its release make me confident that the film will have a powerful impact on American viewers who need to know what is being done in our name and how our fundamental values are being corrupted. THINKFilm understands that TAXI is not about left and right; it is about right and wrong.”

The film is very documentary and shows abuses of power by the United States military. Gibney has done controversial topics before. He is best known for his in depth look at Enron in the critically acclaimed (and must see) “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room”.
