The Hangover kept the buzz going from last weekend’s race of the box office party against Up and pulling out as the winner until the last ticket sold on Sunday night.

What I find interesting about the box office score is that Star Trek (PG-13) is number one in the cumulative while placing in the number five spot for the week. Will The Hangover last in the box office race as a R-rated comedy or become sober this weekend by Tony Scott’s film The Take of Pelham 123?

Star Trek, my favorite is soaring above  Wolverine.  My daughter pointed out that 17 Again went up to 6th leaving Monsters vs. Aliens at 7th place.

Truly no surprises here for Fast & Furious took the Weekly Box Office. The movie is high-octane all the way. Hannah Montana: The Movie may scream with girls of all ages and out maneuver the car flick, but I am too uncertain to make a point. I saw Hannah Montana tonight; it’s a movie that any Miley Cyrus fan will love with lots laughs.  My daughter adored the story and music of Hannah Montana. Will it beat Fast & Furious at the box office? That’s a tough question to answer.

The movie Monsters vs. Aliens is still at the top of the box office. I saw it today with my daughter in IMAX 3-D.  It is a fun entertaining film for all ages.  The character B.O.B. is hilarious; his scenes are full of belly laughs.

Knowing is still number after a winning start last weekend. I Love You, Man, Duplicity and Race to Witch Mountain follow, respectively.  Two films, Monsters vs. Aliens and The Haunting in Connecticut, open this weekend and may knock Knowing off the top.

I am betting on Duplicity; it has all the right flavors for a box office success.

Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail stays at the top of the box office while second, third and fourth shuffle around with Taken, Coraline and Slumdog Millionaire respectively hold those positions. Slumdog took a good jump from number six last week after winning the bulk of the Oscars.
