I am having a good time with this creative and innovative trailer to introduce new musical experiences to the general public where they hear and see musical albums online. The U.K.-based band “One Eskimo” and Warner Premiere have fully immersive musical and visual storytelling experience. This is the first of many to come from various musical artists.
“The Adventures of One EskimO” is a visual album comprised of a series of animated musical story episodes jointly developed and produced by the band and Warner Premiere.
“One EskimO” feels refreshing and light, where a viewer can take a break from his or her busy or hectic day and watch one of these digital music pieces come to life online.
Help One eskimO before it’s too late! By visiting findlittlefeather.com fans can join One eskimO and his band on a quest to track down his lost love. Users are confronted with a series of challenges and games set by the dastardly Mr. Top Hat which they have to overcome if they ever want One eskimO to see Little Feather again. Each game corresponds to major plot points from the animations themselves and employs the same unique look and feel. The online experience allows fans to delve deeper into the story and to feel part of the world of One eskimO.
Carla Gugino gets to work with Zack Snyder as he directs Sucker Punch, an actionfantasy for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. You might be familiar with Gugino’s work in Snyder’s Watchmen where she portrays 1950s version of Silk Spectre.
Gugino joins a fine cast of actors Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, and Abbie Cornish. They all star in the 1950s-set tale of a girl (Browning) confined to a mental institution by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. She and her friends enter an alternate reality where they begin planning an escape. Wow!
Gugino is playing Mrs. Schultz, an adult figure in the institution.
Snyder also wrote the script and is producing with his Cruel & Unusual Films partner, wife Deborah Snyder.
Sounds like the actors are getting serious for a pretty heroic adventure because they are currently in fight training. After the cast completes their fight training, shooting will begin this fall in Vancouver.
Games publisher Midway Games had recently been going through financial difficulties, but all that is over now, as the company has declared bankruptcy and is no longer functioning. Warner Bros. was quick to pounce on this opportunity, buying up many of Midway’s assets.
Having spent only $33 million, the studio now owns various popular game franchises, including Mortal Kombat, Spy Hunter, Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Rampage and Joust. Warner has not revealed its plans for potential film development of these franchises. It should also be pointed out that they did not purchase Midway’s two development studios, a move which has left many to wonder about the future of these games franchises.
Mortal Kombat has been successful on-screen, though the last movie was released over a decade ago. A Spy Hunter film was said to be in development, but now appears to be cancelled.
Having worked all these years at Warner Bros, George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures are in final negotiations to sign an exclusive two-year theatrical development and production deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Clooney, in a press release, wrote about his experience at WB, noting that he has “felt like part of a family for almost 20 years,” but that it is finally time to move on.
Despite the new deal, the company still has several projects being worked on at Warner Bros. These include an adaptation of John Grisham’s non-fiction bestseller The Innocent Man and the Iowa presidential primary-set Farragut North based on Beau Willimon’s critically acclaimed play.
They are also working on adapting The Challenge by Aaron Sorkin, Our Brand is Crisis and The Tourist.
Alex Holmes is set to rewrite and direct The Interpretation of Murder for Warner Bros., going by online reports. Holmes is best known for having done House of Saddam.
The film is an adaptation of Jed Rubenfield’s 2007 novel, which follows a Sigmund Freud protégé who discovers a trail of sadistic murders in turn-of-the-century New York.
The first draft of the screenplay was written by Chris Kyle.
Many actors have been rumored for the role of Green Lantern but none so far have turned out to be correct. Yet another actor today turns up for the role: Alias star turned comedy supporting actor Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, Midnight Meat Train) is now a frontrunner to don the ring and save the galaxy.
This comes from HitFix who insists that the casting rumor comes from several reliable sources, though a deal is yet to be signed between Warner Bros. and Cooper.
Other actors rumored in the past have been Ryan Gosling, Anton Yelchin and Chris Pine. Shooting begins later this year under Martin Campbell’s helm.
The manga series Death Note was awesome – the anime even more awesome. However, the movie left a lot out and when compared to the other two. Despite all this, Warner Bros. is set to adapt the 13-volume manga series into a live-action film.
The manga told the story of a college student who finds a misplaced “death note”, which lets him kill by merely writing the name of the victim while picturing the person in his mind.
Thankfully, the film will be based on the first three installments in the series penned by Tsugumi Ohba and not the Japanese films. Charley and Vlas Parlapanides are set to adapt the script.
Warner Bros. has picked up the sword-and-sandal action film Odysseus, which utilizes the character from Homer’s ‘The Iliad’ and ‘The Odyssey’ – the famed king of Ithaca.
The film will focus on the king’s return home, only to find it under occupation from invaders. He then proceeds to single-handedly defeat every last man and take back his family and kingdom.
The script has been penned by Ann Peacock; Jonathan Liebesman is set to direct once he wraps up work on Battle: Los Angeles.
I wonder what more can Warner Bros. supply us with before the opening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Here is the latest, a wonderful featurette offering actors, directors and producers insight into the next installment of Harry Potter. I noticed some new footage mixed with the old. Enjoy!
