Described as the biggest Russian filmmaker, Timur Bekmabetov has revealed that he has started work on making the sequel to Wanted, the movie famously known for bullet curving and, most importantly, showing Angelina Jolie’s sweet backend. Interestingly, the latter will be back, as he said that they have found a way of bringing Jolie’s character back.
Bekmabetov also said that shooting will take place in America, India and Russia. He has gotten himself a $150 million budget for the film, which makes it the biggest Hollywood production made by a Russian filmmaker. The director will once again have Russian crew involved in every aspect of production.
The film is due out sometime next year.

Last week’s news that scribe Evan Spiliotopoulos (Pooh’s Heffalump Movie) had been hired to pen the sequel to Wanted surprised quite a few people. However, comic creator and film producer Mark Millar quelled all fears, saying that the scribe “did a GREAT action script recently (on an unproduced movie) and that’s what got him this gig.”
He adds that the sequel is being made in a very tight circle at the moment and that they have a lot of money to “spend on everything from cast to crew to script.”
The sequel is expected out next year. Star James McAvoy and director Timur Bekmambetov are expected to return.
