Comparing the current Up in the Air trailer with the exclusive Internet trailer, I’d say this one is much beefier. George Clooney’s character Ryan Bingham is more defined with the rest of the cast. We even get a chance to hear the original song “Help Yourself”. The movie opens November 13, 2009 in select theaters.

Up in the Air takes us on an incredible journey with George Clooney as Ryan Bingham — a frequent flyer who is about to discover his life is going to change, drastically. Up in the Air premiered at Telluride and the reviews are very positive. The trailer is awesome and I can’t wait to see the movie. It lands in the theaters early December.

George Clooney is good, very natural and comfortable on film. His good looks help, too, although from what I read, his character in this film is not all that nice. I like the rhythm of the film clip. Director Jason Reitman is fresh from Juno and he has the magic touch and builds the scene, keeping tempo with the story.
Ryan Bingham, played by Clooney, is a 35 year old career transition counselor. Ryan travels around the country to terminate corporate employees. He does not have a personal life and he numbs himself with sex, booze and drugs. His life on the road comes to a halt when his company downsizes its travel budget just as he is on the cusp of a goal he’s worked toward for years: reaching five million frequent flyer miles and just after he’s met the frequent-traveller woman of his dreams.

Actress Vera Farmiga will be in the skies with George Clooney in Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air.
According to Variety, the tale focuses on a human resources executive whose sole joy in life occurs from the prospect of notching his millionth frequent-flyer mile, a goal he engages in with zeal while the rest of his life falls apart because he is continuously on the road.
Farmiga is set to play a businesswoman who develops a romantic relationship with Clooney’s character through meetings in airports and hotels around the country.
Filming begins in late February in St. Louis, Miami and Las Vegas.

Jason Reitman plans to direct Dreamworks’ Up in the Airwith the hopes that George Clooney will star in an adaptation of the Walter Kirn novel, which Reitman adapted.
Clooney is talking about playing an unapologetic corporate downsizer whose unfettered life is obsessed with collecting air-miles.
Apparently Kirn’s novel experienced quite a journey to production that started around 2004.
It was bought and packaged with a spec script by “The Longest Yard” scribe Sheldon Turner, with Griffin producing.
Reitman was infatuated with the book and came into the picture with 30 pages that showed how he saw the film. He has been writing it on and off for five years, putting it down when he read Diablo Cody’s Juno script. Reitman returned to the project in the spring. He completed the script weeks ago and just showed it to Clooney.
