While out doing promotion for 12 Rounds, director Renny Harlin revealed that a sequel to his 1996 hit The Long Kiss Goodnight is in the works, though it is a while off.
"You know I would love to [make the sequel] and I’ve talked about it but it’s definitely a rumour,” he said. “Right now there’s nothing really cooking on it."
The original had Geena Davis play spy Samantha Caine who lost her memory and become a housewife. She, however, soon recalls her memories and skills start to reemerge as she tries to hunt down those who tried to kill her.
Harlin apparently has a story ready for the sequel, noting that it would focus on Davis’s daughter from the first movie where she was six years old, but who now would be about 19 or 20.
