With all the holiday parties and shopping it looks like the movie goers are interested in The Day the Earth Stood Still. Earth came in first place at the box office. Four Christmases came in second and Twilight, Bolt and Australia followed, respectively.

December 12, 2008 is The Day The Earth Stood Still.
Update: It has been confirmed that the production team isn’t reshooting, but are simply taking “special effects pick up shots.”
Original: IESB reports that the production team for The Day the Earth Stood Still is back at work in Downey, California conducting reshoots. Their source suggests that the reshoots are “rather extensive” and will go on for a full week. It is being speculated that these reshoots are being done for the recently announced IMAX release of the film.
The site also reports that Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly have been called back to redo their scenes as well.
The Day the Earth Stood Still is set for release on December 12.
Now, I wasn’t too impressed with the trailer for The Day the EarthStood Still. Frankly, I like the original movie and hate to see it go into remake mode; but it has and so here are the two posters issued for Comic Con this weekend. I like the one on the right the best. Which one do you like or don’t like the best?
The Day the Earth Still movie trailer is out. Although it looks great and all, I keep remembering the original, which I dearly love. It is hard to out do Robert Wise with Michael Rennie, Patrica Neal and Sam Jaffe.
