The title comes from the Irish saying: “May you be in heaven a full half hour before the devil knows you’re dead.”
I am awed by Lumet’s direction, camera shots and casting. Although the film is peppered with adult scenes and subject matter with gratuitous nude scenes, I am impressed with the actors, edit cuts and the overall production.
The cast is superb including Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Ethan Hawke, Marisa Tomei and Albert Finney. Together they hold a strong creative, dynamic force in the plot driven film.
