Author Stephanie Meyer talks about her story in the recent New MoonFeaturette. Actors offer their insight into their characters and how they relate to Meyer’s story. It’s like a who’s who of Twilight vampires.
If you are like me, who loves to see how scenes are created, then you’ll love this featurette because it’s all about setting up the scene. I have posted this scene in full, but this is how they created the scene and made the actors look so strong and violent. Even the stunt coordinator talks to us about setting up the violence.
While watching, see if you can catch Robert Pattinson holding a cup of tea while wearing his robe as the stunt coordinator goes over some moves with him for the scene. Somehow it’s surreal to see an actor holding a cup of tea while discussing a fight scene with a crew member — it’s so British.
The Twilight saga continues as more casting news is coming down the stream to the public. It is now known that Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman are set to play the ensemble wolf pack in New Moon, the upcoming sequel.
An adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s second novel, the film tells the story of the wolf pack who defends humans against vampires although they have a tribal history intricately intertwined with Edward Cullen and his family.
Each member of the wolf pack is of Native descent. Spencer is Lakota (Sioux), Pelletier is Cree-Metis, Merz is Purepecha (Tarasco), Gordon is Hualapai and House is Cree.
Filming is currently underway. It is set to open in theaters November 20.
Summit Entertainment is so confident of Twilight’s success before its release that it has acquired the film rights to the next three novels in Steph anie Meyer’s vampire series. The first film is due out in one week.
The second and third books “New Moon” and “Eclipse” will be handled by Twilight scribe Melissa Rosenberg. No one is yet attached to adapt the fourth novel “Breaking Dawn.”
The second and third books continue the relationship between Bella and Edward, average teenage girl and vampire, respectively. “Breaking Dawn” pushes the relationship further with a marriage between Bella and Edward; evil empires are also brought in.
