Post #190, Buddy Garrett is the winner!!!

Shaun the Sheep: Off the Baa! is already a huge international hit! Shaun the Sheep is from the Oscar-Award Winning creators of Wallace & Gromit, which won a lot of people’s hearts. Shaun first appeared in the 1996 Oscar-winning Wallace & Gromit short film, A Close Shave, and its popularity gave the creators an opportunity to do a spin-off series of 40 individual episodes.

Currently Shaun the Sheep shorts air on the Disney Channel and rank in the top five shorts on the network. My daughter talks about them all the time. For those who do not know, Shaun is one of the most mischievous, adventurous and entertaining animal on the farm. The DVD release features eight episodes and two bonus features that will have fans of all ages wanting one.

I am a sucker for kids stuff. It’s because I used to perform with a repertory theater in front of kids as an actress. Now that I am a mother, it’s a whole other way of looking at these kid movies, DVDs and series.  I am a kid too when I find one that is brilliant like Timmy Tim.

I just found out about Timmy Time, a 52 series on BBC, from the makers of the much-loved and critically acclaimed Shaun the Sheep. Timmy Time is introduced in one of the shorts in the DVD Shaun the Sheep: Off the Baa!  By the way, Screenhead is sponsoring a giveaway for Shaun the Sheep: Off the Baa!

Little lamb Timmy, along with his animal chums, including Yabba the duckling, Finlay the fox cub and Paxton the piglet go through an animal version of a child’s nursery day in each episode.

The show is over in the U.K. but I am sure it will eventually make its way over to the states.
