Cancer Comedy Coming

Seth-Rogen_l Making a comedy on a sensitive issue like cancer may not be totally appropriate during recent times, seeing as how much cancer patients suffer, but Seth Rogen and Mandate Pictures are currently working on I’m With Cancer, a comedic autobiographical spec written by Will Reiser that Rogen will produce with Evan Goldberg and Ben Karlin.

The film will be Reiser’s account of his struggle to beat cancer, with the story focusing on a 25-year old who finds out he has the disease. Rogen will have a supporting role in the film.

I’m With Cancer is in the works and will soon move into production.

The Green Hornet is set to be directed by Stephen Chow, who will also star as the masked manservant Kato. Seth Rogen is aboard as the mask crime fighter — Green Hornet.

The movie bows June 25, 2010.

I am very excited about The Green Hornet finally coming to the big screen. I’ve know about the project for quit some time while it’s been in development.

Kato was originally played by Bruce Lee on television.

Yesterday Pineapple Express opened to a record-breaking $12.5 million smoking past $8.5 record from The Princess Diaries 2 of 2004. Pineapple Express stars Seth Rogen and James Franco.  I’ve seen Rogan in comedies but never Franco, and Franco is good, funny and believable.  Plus, there is a lesson to learn in this movie, don’t take drugs.

Check out the trailer.

Archlight The NC-17 rating is considered a death sentence for movies as most movie theaters don’t show these movies and most distributors don’t even consider supporting one. It seems that director Kevin Smith is having a couple of issues with the rating of his upcoming comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno which was recently issued with a NC-17 rating from MPAA.

Seth Rogen, who stars in the film, has a few choice words for the MPAA: "They are really ****ing around with us…A guy ****ing a donkey, they ain’t got no problem with, but a man and a woman having sex they seem to have real issues with, for some weird reason. It’s insane. It’s completely insane."

He also talks about the harsh treatment movies get when it comes to sex than violence. "They [fight against] sex stuff. Isn’t that weird?” he asked. “It’s really crazy to me that ‘Hostel’ is fine, with people gouging their eyes out and sh– like that, but you can’t show two people having sex — that’s too much."

The film currently has a release date of October 31.

Rogen and Baruchel Comedy

Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel are starring in a comedy together called “Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse.”

The title suggests two guys dealing with the apocalypse. Apparently last summer, the project caused an interest when a trailer for the short appeared on YouTube.

Filming should begin in 2009.

Baruchel next appears in the Ben Stiller-helmed comedy “Tropic Thunder.” He just wrapped “She’s Out of My League” for DreamWorks.
