Film School Rejects wrote an outstanding review of this very, very dark comedy that stars Robin Williams. I am not sure this film is to my liking because it is very, very dark, but I am sure World’s Greatest Dad will find an audience. The trailer doesn’t say much about the story. Probably, that is good because of an unthinkable act done by the dad, Robin Williams, that pulls me out of the movie line.
The whole Travolta family stars in Old Dogs with Robin Williams. This is definitely a teaser trailer with not much to the plot but slapstick humor. I am sure the next trailer will tells us more about the story line.
Robin Williams is headed to Broadway this spring where he will perform his standup tour of his solo show “Weapons of Self-Destruction” at the Neil Simon Theater.
The Broadway performances are part of an 80-city tour which started earlier February in Santa Barbara.
I heard about the plot for World’s Greatest Dad but didn’t believe a plot like that is possible. The story is about a high school poetry teacher named Lance, Robin Williams, whose son dies in a freak masturbation accident. Lance fakes the death as a suicide with a note to spare family shame. The note gets published without Lance’s permission and ends up being a sensation. Thus, reignites Lance’s writing career by penning a personal journal he claims was written by his son.
The plot must be for real because filming began filming today in Seattle.
Also starring in Greatest is Alexis Gilmore who plays Claire, a teacher having an affair with Lance.

Bob Goldthwait penned the script and is directing the project.
It’s going to be interesting trying to market this movie.
I just came across a comedy, Old Dogs, starring John Travolta and Robin Williams, which is suppose to arrive at the movie theaters April 2009.
The story focuses on “a divorced father of 6 year old twins and his womanizing best friend/business partner who have their hands full when they’re forced to care fro the kids for two weeks.”
I personally don’t see how the title Old Dogs fits into the plot, but it’s a comedy.
Kelly Preston also stars, which quite possibly makes her second film with her husband, Travolta.
Now this is true to life psychiatric story, very real and honest. Kevin Spacey plays a psychiatrist who has lost faith in his ability to help patients. He plays a shrink to Hollywood stars in an ensemble cast of indie “Shrink,” a Jonas Pate-directed drama that has just begun production in Los Angeles.
The stars include Saffron Burrows, Jack Huston, Giffin Dunne, Robin Williams, Pell James, Robert Loggia, Keke Palmer, Laura Ramsey, Gore Vidal, Dallas Roberts and Mark Webber, who play Hollywood characters, clients of psychiatrist (Spacey), who is unable to come to grips with a recent personal tragedy. The psychiatrist is a chronic pot smoker who no longer cares about his personal appearance and has lost faith in his ability to help his
The political biopic “The Prince of Providence” may gain Robin Williams to join Dermot Mulroney, Adam Goldberg, Bradley Cooper, Ed Burns and Oliver Platt. Williams might play charismatic and corrupt Providence, R.I., Mayor Vincent “Buddy” Cianci. Scheduling is the big button on whether Williams will participate.
David Mamet adapted the script by Michael Stanton’s book concerning the man who dominated Providence’s political machine for 21 years. The drama chronicles a roller-coaster series of ups and downs for one of America’s longest-serving mayors. Howard Korder helped polish the script.
