Are you ready for some gritty action just in time for Halloween?
To celebrate the release of the Natural Born Killers 15th Anniversary Director’s Cut, available on Blu-ray/DVD on October 13, 2009. Warner Bros. has created a really cool online trivia game.
How well do you know your Natural Born Killersmovie?
Yes, that is Robert Downey, Jr. with Woody Harrelson in the picture.
Due Date nabs Robert Downey, Jr. who will star with Zach Galifianakis in Todd Phillips directed-comedy for Warner Bros. this fall.
Downey will play an expectant father who finds himself on a road trip with a mismatched partner. But he must make it to the birth of his first child and races to get there before its due date.
I am so happy to see Downy in a comedy again. He has great timing and his energy never stops.
Galifianakis, who starred for Phillips in The Hangover, plays his road trip mate in a comedy that Phillips calls “a buddy comedy without the buddies.”
Shooting starts in September with filming locations being in Atlanta, Arizona and Los Angeles. That’s quite a road trip movie.
To say Comic-Con is a big deal would be an understatement. The convention kicks off tonight at the San Diego Convention Center and runs through the weekend. Quite a few heavy hitters plan to attend from James Cameron generating more fans for Avatar to Mickey Rourke promoting Iron Man 2. We mustn’t forget televisions shows from “Heroes” to “Burn Notice.”
Some folks call Comic-Con an audition for Hollywood. I rather think of it as a promotional frenzy for those who twitter and visit YouTube for a glimpse of the upcoming films and television shows. Scott Bowles of USA Today calls it a “kind of an American Idol-style tryout for Hollywood.”
Unfortunately, I won’t be there this year, but hope to report anyhow through intelligence from Internet acquaintances. But, don’t get me wrong, I wish I could be there in the frenzy. My email cache is filled with invitations from various media outlets inviting me to visit their booths or view their footage. Alas!
With that being said, USA Today posted a very informative point of view on Comic-Con with a little bit of history added to the hype. You will also find plenty of production stills from Iron Man 2.
What happens when a superhero’s true identity is revealed? In Iron Man 2 we will explore that according to director Jon Favreau. The photo is from USA Today’s article on the sequel where Favreau talks about the next Iron Man.
Various rumors were circulating around the internet that Mickey Rourke would likely play the Soviet-era villain The Crimson Dynamo in the upcoming Iron Man sequel. However, the rumor was shot down by the Robert Downey Jr., who told MTV that early reports were incorrect.
Downey also couldn’t “confirm nor deny” that Rourke would play Whiplash or even appear in the film at all. “Here, I can tell you everything about the story except I won’t give away the ending. The nerd stuff is top-drawer security.”
He is currently at work on Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes.
On the wave of success of Iron Man and the anticipation of Tropic Thunder, Robert Downey, Jr. is set to star in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes.
After reading the script by Anthony Peckham, Downey committed to the film. Filming begins in October.
Downey will make a great Sherlock Holmes. I thought he was fantastic as Charlie Chaplin in his characterization and physical changes, which will add a lot to Holmes.
From what I have seen in Tropic Thunder trailers and film clips Downey hits the mark as a white man playing a soul man in black skin.
Sherlock Holmes will be based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic tales, but also the comic book “Sherlock Holmes.”
