It’s apparent that Guy Ritchie created a wildly, raucous movie about Sherlock Holmes. The mix of suspense, laughter and craziness makes this movie a gem for the holiday season. Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr. play brilliantly off each other — a true kinship has formed.
THR reports that Brad Pitt has been the subject of blog rumors of him appearing in several shots of Sherlock Holmes as Moriarty. Pitt has been talking with producers to star in Holmes as Moriarty in the new installment that is currently in development. Yet no deal has transpired yet.
Robert Downey, Jr., Brad Pitt , Jude Law in movie with Guy Ritchie directing is an entertaining idea that would cost big dollars to get on the silver screen. I am all for it but hope the story of Holmes doesn’t get lost in the limelight.

Iron Man partners in crime Jon Favreau and Robert Downy Jr. may work together in Cowboys & Aliens.
Favreau is very interested in corralling this picture deal as director with DreamWorks and Universal overseeing the project. The project has Downey attached to star with a hope of starting in the summer of 2010.
Obviously, based on the title, the film is set in the Old West. Cowboys and Native Americans battle each other in Arizona when a space ship crashes and a new enemy force makes the battle majorly different with new technology beyond the wild frontier.
The film is based on a graphic novel of the same name that was published in 2006. The sale of the film idea came from, not the whole novel, a one-sheet of a cowboy and a space ship.
Of course, Favreau and Downey will work on Iron Man 3, but Iron Man 2 needs to open May 10, 2010 first.
So after seeing–and enjoying!–the trailers for Despicable Me, it’s interesting to see that another supervillain-centrated cartoon will be hitting theatres.
After catching my colleague Kenna’s take on the whole thing, I had to throw in my own two cents–this is just bizarre. Really, bizarre. Took about two minutes to scrape my jaw off the floor after THAT little chunk of news hit. I mean, in what universe do you replace ROBERT DOWNEY JR. with Will Ferrell? Isn’t this like replacing A-Rod with Charlie Brown?
And, even on the off chance you’re going to try and replace Robert Downey Jr. with ANYONE, why Will Ferrell? I can think of a hundred better candidates off the top of my head! Seriously–couldn’t Stiller call in some help from his Mystery Man days? Surely William H. Macy could’ve handled the job. After playing The Shoveler, I can’t see how he couldn’t get Metro Man down. Dan Castellaneta’s Blue Raja comes easily to mind, and even Paul Reubens’ The Spleen could’ve probably done a better job than Will Ferrell.
Will this incredibly brave–or incredibly stupid–move pay off? We’ll have to wait to see–this is slated for a November 2010 release.
I love the whole “vampires suck” pun. I really do. And I use it as often as I can because the whole thing is just so apt. And then I discovered that Robert Downey Jr., who apparently got off the crack and got on with his career, is taking a whole new role–the vampire Lestat.
Oh yes…The Vampire Lestat will be coming our way on the order of eventually. But this isn’t the first time an Anne Rice novel has been converted to film, either–Lestat was also played by Stuart Townshend back in that godawful tripe Queen of the Damned. Chances are they’ll start at the beginning of Rice’s vampire hegemony and start with Interview With The Vampire.
I can’t deny that Robert Downey Jr.’s got some real acting chops, especially since his Ally McBeal days. His time as Iron Man has been downright amazing, and even I’m prepared to be at least provisionally interested in a new Lestat piece. Provisionally, mind you–this is the kind of vampire movie I generally hate. But it’s worth keeping an eye on!
Robert Downey, Jr. introduces Sherlock Holmes footage at Comic-Con2009 and he is tripping on the crowd. The crowd is going unbelievably wild over him. After seeing this clip of his introduction, I am excited and want to see the movie.
Some websites are negative about the movie, but I am not. Sherlock Holmes is a icon. He is a fictional character that has become a legend, almost to the point that some people actually believe he is a real person. Even Downey indicates such in this clip. Now is the time to see a movie about this fellow.

The first Iron Man gave Robert Downey Jr. back his stardom and now the superhero franchise is readying to return to the big screen on May 7, 2010. Iron Man will battle new villain Mickey Rourke, get to know Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow. Downey told Entertainment Weekly that he knows the movie isn’t an underdog this time around. “There are a lot more invisible eyes on us now,” he says.
I recommend you go to Entertainment Weekly’s website and view the whole cover story with exclusive photos. The story includes details about Black Widow fighting over Tony with Pepper Pots (Gwyneth Paltrow).
Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are brilliant in this movie. Guy Ritchie has created a suspenseful and thrilling movie that is sure to shake the rafters in the movie theaters.
