Alba in Fable

Next month An Invisible Sign of My Own goes in front of the cameras with Jessica Alba starring.

The modern-day fable centers on a young woman who retreats from society as she consumes her attention on numbers and math. She becomes a school teacher and things begin to change.

With Wanted opening this weekend it only makes sense that the movie’s writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas announce their latest venture – animals taking over the planet. The script All Creatures Great and Small was drafted for Sony after the idea came during a brainstorming session with producer Neal Moritz. Moritz had been throwing the idea around and told the Brandt and Haas about it. They immediately went to work.

The writing duo describes Creatures as a big, creative movie like Jurassic Park with an environmental flare. The humans destroyed the planet with their thirst for oil and consumption of natural resources that the animals took over and fought back to save the planet.  Wicked. The humans become the minority.

Brandt and Haas are the writing force behind such films as “2 Fast 2 Furious” and “3:10 to Yuma.”

08324124525_bielgyllenhaalweb According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, the David Russell-directed indie comedy Nailed has had its production shut down for the fourth time. The problem once again rose from IATSE crew members not being paid and thus being ordered not to show up on set.

There are two days of principal photography still left, including a key restaurant scene, so the situation is expected to be resolved quickly.

The film stars James Marsden, Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal, and is expected to hit theaters sometime next year following post-production.
