Castlevania Turns to Dust

castlevania The long-in-development film adaptation of Castlevania, the popular game franchise, is not happening, according to Bloody Disgusting.

It was being written by Paul W.S. Anderson and Ian Jeffers, and Sylvain White was set to direct, though it recently went out to new directors only to arrive in development hell. The film would have chronicled the rise of Dracula and the vampire-slaying Belmont Clan.

Well, that’s another game franchise that won’t be ruined by Hollywood. Hopefully, if it doesn’t rise from the ashes like Dracula does.

Resident Evil 4 Going Forward

If you had had enough of Resident Evil, you won’t be reading this post, but everybody likes watching a disaster in motion: the first script of Paul Anderson’s fourth installment in the videogame franchise has been submitted… and the second draft is now underway.

The filmmakers are currently trying to get Milla Jovovich to reprise her role as series protagonist; a director is also being sought before casting can get underway. Anderson, as with the other two sequels, won’t be helming this installment, though I must say, the first film he did was pretty decent.

As expected, the film will shift to Tokyo as well as visit Alaska. Its tone will be dark like the last sequel.
