Thomas, Duff Go Nowhere

Variety reports that Kristin Scott Thomas and Anne-Marie Duff have joined the cast of Nowhere Boy, the upcomingbiopic of The Beatles frontman John Lennon.

The debut feature of Sam Taylor-Wood will follow the earlier years of the singer/songwriter with Aaron Johnson in the title role. Thomas will play Lennons aunt Mimi, with Duff playing his mother Julia.

Penned by Matt Greenhalgh, the film will start shooting this March in Loverpool and at Ealing Studios in West London.

Lennon Biopic Gets Director

John_Lennon_wideweb__430x336,0 A biopic about legendary Beatles singer John Lennon is going to be directed by Sam Taylor-Wood. Dubbed Nowhere Boy, the film has been penned by Matt Greenhalgh (Control), which focuses on the singer’s childhood and the journey to stardom.

The film will depict Lennon as a lonely teenager growing up with his only escape being music, art and fateful friendship with Paul McCartney.

Casting is currently underway, with filming set to take place on location in Lennon’s hometown in Liverpool.
