Being transferred to the screen by Shawn Slovo, the movie will follow a fateful encounter on an African beach in which a 16-year old Nigerian orphan named Little Bee meets a vacationing upper-middle-class British couple who have wandered into the area outside the safety of their resort.

Slovo is known for his work on Catch a Fire and the autobiographical A World Apart. He was born and raised in South Africa and relocated with her family as a teen to the UK as a political refugee.

Picture is worth a thousand words and this production still from Australia with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman says it all — double whoa!

Nicole Kidman is attached to star in The Eighth Wonder, a pitch from Simon Kimberg that is an action adventure.

Overall details are hush-hush; however, the story focuses on an archaeological discovery that sets off a globle-spanning race.

Apparently, Kimberg is trying to achieve a movie that will be to Raider of the Lost Ark what the Bourne movies are to James Bond movies — you do the math–.

Put two and two together, a character driven, treasure-hunting thriller.

Kidman and Kimberg set sights on working together for some time; since Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which Kimberg wrote.

Kimberg will write Eighth Wonder this fall.

20th Century has picked it up.

Australia is release date is being shifted by 12 days to November 26 from November 14 due to the Harry Potter shift to July from November.

It is just a continuum of the series of distributor efforts to counter or balance the Harry Potter Half-Blood Prince rescheduling from the holidays to the summer.

Australia’s new date means Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman starrer will go up against wide openers including action sequel Transporter and seasonal movie Four Christmases, starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon. Both of those movies also will bow on Wednesday.

Australia is still set to bow in other international territories at Christmas, as originally scheduled.

Why did you name your baby Sunday? Just arrived Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, the beautiful baby girl who was born July 7 to parents Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, is named after early 20th-Century artist’s muse Sunday Reed.

Kidman’s father is quoted as saying he read quite a bit about Sunday Reed and her husband John. Apparently, Sunday was quite a mover and shaker in the arts around the beginning of the century.

And another newspaper reported that in January, Kidman and Urban visited an exhibition by artist Sidney Nolan, who had a longtime relationship with Reed who became his muse.

The exhibition present a quote of Nolan’s that was scrawled across a wall: “When you are young you are given a good view of life, because of your closeness to birth.”
