Antonio Banderas joined the ensemble cast of Woody Allen’s next movie, which goes into production without a title 
this summer in London.
The versatile Spanish actor joins a roster of talented actors such as Naomi Watts, Freida Pinto, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins.
This will be Banderas’ first movie with Allen.
Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto is all set to star in Woody Allen’s latest project, which is untitled.
Pinto joins a list of actors as she takes on the ingénue role in Allen’s movie. The actors include Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins.
According to Variety, Pinto has become one of the most pursued actresses since her breakout performance in Slumdog.
Very recent Oscar winner Sean Penn is in talks to play Ambassador Joseph Wilson for the movie Fair Game, 
the drama about the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. Naomi Watts is already set to star as the CIA agent with director Doug Liman (Mrs. and Mrs. Smith.)
According to Variety, Ambassador Wilson watched his wife’s CIA status become compromised after he wrote op-ed columns that accused the Bush Administration of manipulating intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq.
The movie will be based on Plame Wilson’s memoir.
As the headlines reported, Plame Wilson left the CIA in 2005 and she and her husband filed a civil suit against Vice President Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and Cheney’s ex-chief of staff, Lewis “Scooter” Libby. Rove and Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage admitted they leaked her agency status to journalists. Yet, Libby was convicted of lying to a federal grand jury about his role in compromising her covert status, according to Variety.
Dark Horizons cites its own upcoming interview with actress Naomi Watts, who claims that the upcoming remake of The Birds will happen, with the emphasis on will.
“It will happen. It’s absolutely going to happen. And it’s something that Universal has a lot invested in, and so they’re going to make sure the script is right, and take their time with it,” she said. “Martin Campbell’s directing it and he’s very involved in it.”
However, she couldn’t offer a more specific start date other than “end of this year”.
The movie has been in development for quite some time. It is said that this version will bear only a faint resemblance to Hitchcock’s famous thriller.
Mother Child is written and will be directed by Rodrigo Garcia with Annette Bening and Naomi Watts in the starring roles. What a beautiful combination!
Bening and Watts range of work will bring true performances to this story. Garcia is known for his television work as well as the film Nine Lives featuring nine intertwining tales about women.
Mother Child is a multilayered story overlapping tales as the script follows a woman who gave up her daughter 35 years ago and an African-American woman who is looking to adopt. Kerry Washington and Shareeka Epps also star.
Mother Child turns an emotional story about making choices and missing opportunities with the unbreakable blood bond between mother and daughter.
Filming begins early next year in L.A.
