Get your calendar out and start filling in the dates for the major studios release dates in 2009 as they finalize movie-theateropenings for the year.

Sony has pushed back the release of Roland Emmerich’s blockbuster 2012 from July 10 to November 13.

Guy Ritchie’s Robert Downey Jr.-Jude Law  highly-anticipated Sherlock Holmes has been pushed back about a month from November 13 to December 25.

Twilight sequel New Moon is set for November 20.  on that date.

Sony moved up the release of Hugh Grant-Sarah Jessica Parker romantic comedy Did You Hear About the Morgans? is set for December 18.

Nancy Meyers’ untitled comedy is set to open December 25.

Other movies planted for Christmas Day are The Princess and the Frog and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel.

James Cameron’s action-adventure Avatar opens one week before Sherlock Holmes on December 18.

Universal moved the release of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Bruno from May 15 to July 10.

The Hangover will open June 5, one week earlier than its original release date of June 12.

Universal announced Wednesday that it is taking Emma Roberts  movie Wild Child out of its May 8 release date this year. No new release date was mentioned.

Of course, this is subject to change and not all the movies set to open in 2009 have been listed.

The Hollywood Reporter carries word that Hunter Parrish, Zoe Kazan and Lake Bell have joined the cast of Universal’s untitled Nancy Meyers romantic comedy. They join Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.

The movie tells the story of a woman dealing with empty-nest syndrome who is torn between her ex-husband and a male friend played by Baldwin and Martin, respectively.

Parrish will play the woman’s youngest child who is graduating from college and is gearing up to go to the big city. Meanwhile, Kazan will play the middle child who is moving to Los Angeles and has a hard time dealing with the possibility of her parents getting back together.

The film is being produced by Scott Rudin alongside Nancy Meyers who has written and will direct the film.

Steve Martin is set to join Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin in the untitled romantic comedy that Nancy Meyers wrote and will direct in February.

They story is about Martin and Baldwin playing rivals for the affection of a woman (Streep).  

Martin and Meyers worked together before on Father of the Bride films. Meyers co-wrote and produced both of the films in which Martin starred for Disney.

Nancy Meyers will write and direct her next film at Universal. The untitled romantic comedy is set for big parts – a woman and two men – following a long-term relationship.

Meyers made her last two films — “Something’s Gotta Give” and “The Holiday” at Columbia.

According to Variety, Meyers said she will complete the script by August.
