clashofthetitans-posterscan-med04Sam Worthington is looking good in a collection of posters.  First Showing has a whole collection of them and they are worth a look.  Some sites have had to take them off their site because Warner Bros. made a strong request to do so.

Apparently, they are not the official posters, but creative mock-ups for decision makers, I suspect.

I don’t know how long these will be available to see, but check them out while you can.  Does any one know when the movie opens in the theaters?

2012c

Three detailed and glorious banners came out this week for Roland Emmerich’s end of the world, blockbuster movie. The banners show key landmarks of the world being destroyed by Mother Nature.

We have the Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue, a very familiar icon, which is being shown here and at Empire online you can see the other two — USS John F. Kennedy about to wipe out the White House in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles on the verge of a total and complete wash out as the San Andreas Fault rips a gigantic seam down the whole freaking disaster. The movie stars John Cusack and opens Friday, November 13, 2009.  I hope you feel lucky that day.

I am very excited for Quentin Tarantino because he scored wildly well on Friday’s box office.  Inglourious Basterds is Tarantino’s best domestic box office opening ever.  From the looks of the trailers and Steve Anderson’s review, we should not be surprised.  It’s a movie where we can all watch and have a great laugh while we witness Brad Pitt and his cronies kill off the Nazi regime.

I have to mention that Nora Ephron’s Julie & Julia is still in the top five, go girls!

Results:

1. Inglourious Basterds
$ 14.3

2. District 9
$ 5.5

3. G.I. Joe
$ 3.6

4. The Time Traveler’s Wife
$ 3.3

5. Julie and Julia
$ 2.6

I like these four Fame posters because they hit all the buzz of the film. My favorite is “I am going to live forever.”

The remake of Fame is a reinvention of the original Oscar-winning hit film. Fame follows a talented group of dancers, singers, actors, and artists over four years at the New York City High School of Performing Arts, a diverse, creative powerhouse where students from all walks of life are given a chance to live out their dreams and achieve real and lasting fame…the kind that comes only from talent, dedication, and hard work.

In an incredibly competitive atmosphere, plagued by self-doubt, each student’s passion will be put to the test. In addition to their artistic goals, they have to deal with everything else that goes along with high school, a tumultuous time full of schoolwork, deep friendships, budding romance, and self-discovery.

As each student strives for his or her moment in the spotlight, they’ll discover who among them has the innate talent and necessary discipline to succeed. With the love and support of their friends and fellow artists, they’ll find out who amongst them will achieve Fame…

The cast includes Asher Book as Marco, Kristy Flores as Rosie, Paul Iacono as Neil, Paul McGill as Kevin, Naturi Naughton as Denise, Kay Panabaker as Jenny, Kherington Payne as Alice, Collins Pennie as Malik, Walter Perez as Victor, and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle as Joy. Their instructors include Debbie Allen as Principal Simms, Charles S. Dutton as Alvin Dowd, Kelsey Grammer as Joel Cranston, Megan Mullally as Fran Rowan, and Bebe Neuwirth as Lynn Kraft.

Entertainment Weekly’s Comic Con edition carries four Star Trek posters, awesome and appropriate to Star Trek.  You can go to TrekMovie.com and get filled in on the latest Star Trek news and view the posters.

I like the posters because they show just enough so I know the movie reflects each character’s original quality that made Star Trek such a phenomenon.
