From Latino Review comes word that British actress Carey Mulligan (Doctor Who) has been cast in the upcoming Wall Street sequel where Money Never Sleeps.
She will play the daughter of Gordon Gecko (played by Michael Douglas), who hasn’t spoken to her father in the eleven years he was in prison. Her character is now engaged to Shia LaBeouf’s character; she also blames her father for her brother’s suicide.
The film is due out next year.

The planned sequel for Wall Street has been buzzing for some time now. We shall see Gordon Gecko come back for the lead role. The title for the sequel is “Money Never Sleeps”.
The sequel picks off where Gekko comes out of prison, goes back into business but with a harder time. The film once released is perfect for what we are currently experiencing as far as economic crisis and stock plunges in the news today.

Additionally, Oliver Stone will be returning to direct and Shia LaBeouf of the Transformers is reportedly being tapped to join Michael Douglas for the new film.
Shia LaBeouf (”Transformers” films) is negotiating to join Michael Douglas, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Gordon Gekko in the original film. The sequel will once again involve a young Wall Street trader, and the recent economic meltdown spurred by rampant greed and corruption will fit prominently into the plot.

Fox is set to revisit if greed is indeed good by setting in motion Wall Street sequel, titled Money Never Sleeps.
Allan Loeb has been set to write the script in what is being expressed as a page one rewrite according to the Hollywood Reporter. The story line is a secret, right now. One thing we do know the character of Gordon Gekko, the corporate raider immortalized by Michael Douglas in the 1987 Oliver Stone film, will be in the story.
Douglas, who won an Oscar for the role, is attracted to the idea of reprising the character. He will make his decision of whether to return based on the script.
