Mamma Mia! is such a fun film to watch and sing along with the ABBA songs.  My favorite is toward the end of the movie where Meryl Streep sings “The Winner Takes It All.”  The whole set up is an actor’s dream – she sings with the Mediterranean Sea behind her on a cliff – astounding award winning scene. You got to see it to appreciate it. Streep is magnificent.

If you have ever been in a musical, you know what it means to find your key. Hopefully, the musical director is very understanding. It looks like Meryl Streep got the key she wanted to Mamma Mia! What a lucky girl!

I just got my review copy of Mamma Mia! I am so excited. This DVD is selling like fish and chips over in the U.K. A total of 3.1 million copies to date have been snatched off the shelves. Now, the United States will have the same opportunity December 16, 2008. Take a look at a behind-the-scenes clip of Mamma Mia!

I admit it, I watched “Mamma Mia!”. I know my friends will probably laugh at me about this but that’s them, and then there’s me. The film totally rocked. One indication is its success in the box office. The movie garnered $377 million to date internationally – and this is in a genre that hasn’t fared well in the international market.

But the Meryl Streep starrer once again took the No. 1 spot at the foreign Box Office over for Oct. 3-5 weekend, grossing $14.5 million. In the U.K. alone, “Mamma Mia” has banked an incredible $112.8 million.

This is great news for Disney, as they as set to release their own musical – “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” – in two weeks. The “High School Musical” franchise is as wildly popular abroad as it is in the U.S. In addition to the two “High School Musical” television movies, the franchise has spawned live stage shows and local-language productions.
