Twitch found this trailer at Apple and brought it to my attention. It’s worth a look and has an interesting premise. I am not sure if LOVE is just a flow of consciousness or a steady take on the horrific situation an astronaut is confronted with — his space station has become stranded. He’s lost in orbit and slowly the life support system of the space stations dwindles down as he loses his sanity. I dig the music by Angels and Airwaves.
Oscar nominee Viola Davis is a beautiful actress who can morph into any character and make it more than believable. So, I am delighted to hear that she is negotiating to take a role in Columbia’s Eat, Pray, Loveopposite Julia Roberts and Richard Jenkins. To get the role, all Davis has to do is work out her scheduling. She would play Roberts’ best friend, Delia.
With Julia Roberts attached to Ryan Murphy’s script, based on the adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir, which he is also directing, the movie is sure to draw a large female audience because the film is about a woman (Roberts) who sets out on an international journey of self-discovery after enduring a terrible divorce.
Davis was nominated this year for best supporting actress for her role in Doubt – what an honest performance, she’s magical.
Javier Bardem is discussing with Columbia Pictures to star in Eat, Pray, Love, the Ryan Murphy-directed adaptation of the Elizabeth Gilbert memoir.
Bardem signs on with Julia Roberts and Richard Jenkins in the cast.
As far as Variety reports, Roberts plays the author, and Bardem will play Felipe, the man Gilbert meets and falls in love with on the final leg of a journey of self-discovery that began with the end of her marriage.
Richard Jenkins plays a Texan whom the heroine befriends at an Indian ashram.
Richard Jenkins joins Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir with adaption by Ryan Murphy, who is also directing.
The story is about a woman (Roberts) who seemingly has it all but comes to the realization that life isn’t for her. After a painful divorce, she sets out on a journey of self-discovery around the world.
Jenkins plays a Texan, a man with a dark past who is also on a spiritual journey, whom Roberts’ character meets at an Indian ashram.
I have seen the book resting in women’s arms at coffee shops a various occasions, and Oprah has featured the writer and book.
The majority of the cast is expected to reflect the book’s international flavor; the story is set mostly in Italy, India and Bali.
Paper Heart is a delightful tale, starring Charlyne Yi (Knocked Up) and Michael Cera (Juno, Year One). Michael Cera plays these roles with such innocence. The style of filmmaking is unique because it mixes reality with fiction. The story follows Yi as she embarks on a quest across America to make a documentary about the one subject she doesn’t fully understand: Love.
Cera becomes the object of her affection. Weaving together reality and fantasy, the film combines elements of documentary and traditional storytelling to bring a fresh perspective to the modern romance. Paper Heart also stars Jake Johnson (Red Belt) who plays the film director documenting Yi’s international journey that includes stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York City, Toronto and Paris.
Paper Heart debut at the Sundance Film Festival and won the Waldo Salt Award for best screenplay. The film opens in Los Angeles and New York theaters August 7, 2009 and expanding on August 17, 2009.
