Matt Damon and Josh Brolin are talking with Joel and Ethan Coen to hitch a ride with Jeff Bridges in True Grit. A remake or redesign or re-imaging of the iconic 1969 Western tale that Paramount Pictures plans to start production next March for late 2010 release.
Bridges will play U.S. marshal Rooster Cogburn with Damon talking about playing the lawman (played by Glen Campbell in the original) who teams up with Cogburn and a 14-year old girl to track her father’s killer into hostile Indian territory.
Brolin is talking about playing the killer. Jeff Corey played the killer in the original, and Robert Duvall and Dennis Hopper also played outlaws.
Coen brothers haven’t cast the young girl yet.
Male fantasy characters from graphic novels, classic stories or Greek mythology is overwhelming the big screen. Josh Brolin here as Jonah Hex makes my heart skip a beat or two. Megan Fox also stars, so you boys can have a great time watching the movie too. If you want to see pics of Hex, click here for the source.

I am delighted to see John Malkovich take on a role of a missled demonic character. He will be countering against Josh Brolin in Jonah Hex, the Warner Bros. adaptation of the DC Comics property that begins production in April.
Malkovich is set to play Turnbull, a wealthy Southern plantation owner whose son is killed by Union soldiers during the Civil War. He blames Hex, a former confederate soldier-turned-hardened bounty hunter and gunslinger.
Consistent with his approach to working on a film Woody Allen is keeping his next film’s title and plot under wraps,
but has nabbed Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins to star in the film, which willl shoot in London this summer.
Brolin and Hopkins are the first in an ensemble cast. This is Brolin’s second film with Woody and Anthony Hopkins first.
Josh Brolin has finally confirmed a longstanding rumor – he was in fact offered the part of the villain terminator Terminator Salvation, the upcoming big-screen sequel to the franchise that jumpstarted Schwarzenegger’s career.
"Yeah. I talked to Christian [Bale] for a couple hours. I really liked the script though I hear that’s not what they filmed. The one I read was very interesting and dark. Ultimately though I didn’t think it felt right" said Brolin.
The rumor first popped up earlier this year when the film’s director admitted that he offered Brolin the role. Australian actor Sam Worthington finally got the role.
Jonah Hex may finally be moving forward, with Hollywood Elsewhere citing multiple sources as telling them that Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) has been signed on for the title role in the Warner Bros. film.
The site’s editor is confident, claiming that the “deal is sealed.” However, the studio is yet to confirm the rumor, and Brolin’s agent claims the actor is not attached to the project.
Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are helming the project. It is based on a western comic book anti-hero – a middle-aged bounty hunter and gunslinger who deals with supernatural stuff.
