Jonathan Liebesman’s The Killing Room premiered at Sundance this last year, but never found a suitable distributor. The movie stars Peter Stormare, Chloë Sevigny, Timothy Hutton, and Nick Cannon and will go direct to DVD this October. I like the premise of this film because it is based on true events. The psychiatrist in this film is evil and we might as well admit most of them are. It’s a bold movie and I hope to see more like this one that depicts a profession that is truly on its way out.
Director of horror movies such as Darkness Falls and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Jonathan Liebesman, according to the trades, is in negotiations to direct sci-fi thriller Battle: Los Angeles for Sony Pictures and Original Films.
The story follows the struggle of one Marine platoon’s encounter in the battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles.
The script has been penned by Chris Bertolini, with producer Neal Moritz pushing forward quickly on getting it into production.
