I am delighted to see John Malkovich take on a role of a missled demonic character. He will be countering against Josh Brolin in Jonah Hex, the Warner Bros. adaptation of the DC Comics property that begins production in April.

Malkovich is set to play Turnbull, a wealthy Southern plantation owner whose son is killed by Union soldiers during the Civil War. He blames Hex, a former confederate soldier-turned-hardened bounty hunter and gunslinger.

Great trailer and an even better movie by Clint Eastwood starring Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich. A true story with incredible acting by Jolie, she is beautiful, but I could hardly recognize her as the mother — just fantastic. Movie opens October 24th.

I just nabbed the link to Simon Hunter’s film The Mutant Chronicles.  Apparently, the film will premiere at Comic-Con, which should be awesome for all the comic fans in San Diego.  The film stars Ron Perlman, Thomas Jane and John Malkovich.

The story is quite fascinating while a bit convoluted.

“Burn After Reading” by the Coen Brothers opens the 65th Venice Film Festival.

As usual “Burn” is a dark spy comedy,  and stars Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich and Tilda Swinton.

If you can make the festival, the film comes to the U.S. in September.

There has been a lot of buzz about “Burn,” which the Coens wrote and directed. The story pivots on an ousted CIA official, Malkovich, whose memoir falls into the hands of two Washington, D.C., gym employees, who decide to attempt to exploit their find.

”Burn” marks the second consecutive year a film from the Working Title stable opens Venice, following “Atonement” last year.
