Thank the gaming gods today; in fact, go out and buy some music games as a tribute to the merciful gods, as Brett Ratner, the director who is obsessed with a particular rhythm game franchise, has been denied the right to make a movie based on the Guitar Hero franchise.
“I’d really like to do it, but they’re not letting me… I expressed my interest, but because it’s such a success, it’s like now there’s no reason to make a movie about it,” he said quite disappointedly. “The game is wish-fulfilling, everyone can be a rock star… I might prevail… I usually do.”
Ratner is currently working on further spoiling the Beverly Hills Cop series with a fourth entry and making a film adaptation of the God of War game franchise.
