I am happy to see Tom Selleck cast in a comedy. We haven’t seen him on the big screen enough.  He’s not only good looking but funny. Also, starring with him is Catherine O’Hara, Martin Mull with leads roles bowing to Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl in the action comedy Five Killers.

The project is being directed by Robert Luketic with production starting this month in France and Atlanta for a June 4, 2010 release date.

The story centers on a hit man (Kutcher) at the top of his game who falls for a computer tech (Heigl) and chooses to hang up his guns for a blissful life in marriage. Years later, their suburban paradise is shattered when he finds out there’s a hit out on him, forcing him and his terrified wife to go on the run.

Selleck and O’Hara will play Heigl’s overprotective father and adoring mother. Mull will play Holbrook, Kutcher’s handler.

Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher will star in the Lionsgate thriller Five Killers.

Film reteams Heigl with director Robert Luketic, who most recently directed the actress in forthcoming romantic comedy The Ugly Truth.

The story starts off where a woman meets the man of her dreams while on vacation. Married bliss is turned upside down when they discover that their neighbors may be assassins hired to kill them.

Film starts production next month in Atlanta and the south of France.

Ashton Kutcher is set to star in Lionsgate’s Five Killers with Robert Luketic directing the action comedy.

Kutcher is set to take on the role of a former hit man whose life is turned upside down because someone from his past has paid a group of killers to bump him off.

Filming is set to start early next year.
