Try to catch Stream on FEARnet.com Spanning 6 episodes (each several minutes in length), the series stars Whoopi as Jodi, a woman who spends a lifetime wrestling with her personal demons and gathering the strength to face her worst fears. When she was seventeen, moments from various points in Jodi’s life become intertwined, effectively letting her experience two moments at once.

The story snaps back and forth through three phases of Jodi’s life: her past as an intelligent but headstrong teen; her present in a psychiatric facility (abuse no doubt) , and her future as an adult clinging to a normal life after years of tribulation.

While Whoopi Goldberg may be known recently for her role as co-host of “The View,” she will be remembered by many sci-fi fans for her time on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Now she returns to the genre in the psychological thriller, Stream, a new series debuting on FEARnet’s website.

Spanning 6 episodes (each several minutes in length), the series stars Whoopi as Jodi Quinn, a woman who spends a lifetime wrestling with her personal demons and gathering the strength to face her worst fears. Thanks to a drug she took when she was seventeen, moments from various points in Jodi’s life become intertwined, effectively letting her experience two moments at once. The story snaps back and forth through three phases of Jodi’s life: her past as an intelligent but headstrong teen; her present in a psychiatric facility (poor girl – worse place ever to be), and her future as an adult clinging to a normal life after years of tribulation.

Fear Itself, the suspense and horror anthology series from the creators of “Masters of Horrors” and aired on NBC, is now available to watch for free on FEARnet’s website and VOD service. Each installment bears the signature mark of one of a host of award-winning filmmakers, including John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), Darren Bousman (Saw II, III and IV) and Ronny Yu (Freddy vs. Jason). A line-up of gifted film and television actors star in the series, and the teleplays are penned by luminaries from the horror/suspense world.

New Year’s Day, directed by Darren Bousman (Saw II, III and IV) and written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) from a story by Paul Kane, is now live on FEARnet. The episode is about a young woman who wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by horrifying zombies.

FEARnet and Screenhead are sponsoring a giveaway of SAW 2 DVD and a FEARnet T-shirt.  Post your name and Screenhead will draw the winner Thursday, January 22, 2009.

Halloween is only one day away, so FEARnet has a special holiday treat for horror movie fans. I thought you might be interested to know that Clive Barker’s The Midnight Meat Train (featuring a cast led by Brooke Shields, Vinnie Jones, Bradley Cooper and Roger Bart) is now available for free online at the FEARnet website.

The film received a very limited run in theaters and has yet to be released on DVD, so FEARnet (online and VOD) is the only place you can see the film right now.
