harrymeetwesleyA rare photo of the day Daniel Radcliffe met Rupert Grint is something too special not to share.  LA Times: Head Complex has a wonderful interview with David Heyman the producer of all the Harry Potter films.

Any Harry Potter fan needs to take a look at the article — it’s quite good. Heyman talks about casting Radcliffe and how he found the bright-blue-eyed boy wonder at the theater and coaxed his parents into letting their son audition.  He even gives some insight to casting Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

It has been revealed on Harry Potter star Emma Watson’s official website that she went in for test shoots on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Monday.

“I think I have a couple of costume fittings and a hair appointment to make my hair a bit browner,” she wrote. “Not sure whether we have a couple rehearsals as well.”

The two-part final entry is being primed for release on November 2010 and May 2011. Shooting is scheduled to begin shortly.

We have to wait until July 2009 to see the next installment of Harry Potter, but the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009 calendar is hitting the shelves as I write.  You can go to Sntich Seeker site and view some the pictures from the calendar — what fun!  Below is my favorite picture of them all.

As a note:  I saw Ballet Shoes DVD over the weekend, which stars Emma Watson and a few other actors who are cast in Harry Potter’s films as well.  Great film. I recommend it for anyone who has a daughter in ballet, theater or any performance art.

Ballet Shoes brings together again Harry Potter actors Emma Watson, Gemma Jones and Richard Griffiths. The BBC production starts a release August 26.

Subtitled “A Story of Three Children on the Stage,” the 1936 children’s novel focuses on three girls: Pauline, Petrova and Posy Fossil, each of whom obtained a guardian as a baby. An absent-minded geologist named Matthew Brown is their guardian.  Enjoy the trailer!

I am very excited for Emma Watson, she just turned eighteen, has landed a role in “Napoleon and Betsy,” a period drama during Napoleon’s exile on the isolated British Isle of St. Helena.

What an appropriate eighteenth birthday present!

Watson will play Betsy Balcombe, a young, hotheaded noblewoman held as prisoner on the isolated island. She falls in love Napoleon.

Scarlett Johansson departed from the role as it requires a younger lead.

Johansson is still involved with the producing of the film.

Watson is admired for her role as Hermione Granger in Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter” films, and is wrapping up the filming on the sixth, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is scheduled to start filming in early 2009, Watson plans to work on “Napoleon and Betsy” in the fall.
